Can an executor be a Landlord?

However, i am the only one in the probate of the estate, so who could be my landlord but me. I heard this particular problem is prevalent all over the country as a lot of sons and daughters live in their family home taking care of their MOM and DAD, then they pass away and they want to stay in the home they grew up in. I know it seems like a strange situation, but it isn't, so what can be done, that is, legally, in this situation, thanks for listening and assisting
