Do I need the original lease or is a digital copy fine?

Do I need the original lease or is a digital copy fine? I want to know if I can give my original lease to my tenants and just keep a digital copy on file.

@Remington Lyman  For leases I keep both, but in the few times I've had to go to court, a print out of the digital copy was fine.
