If a tenant's rent is being paid by employer, who signs lease?
I have a single-family house and the prospective tenant has an employer who will pay his rent as part of his compensation. So my question is... am I signing the lease with the tenant or his employer? He says his previous landlord signed the lease with his employer, but I'm left wondering what happens if the employer (a small business) stops paying, do I have the same recourse as if I had a contract with the tenant? My gut says I should have a contract with the tenant but would love your advice! TIA.
