Should tenant pay for any of these repairs?
I am a new landlord. My tenant, who is moving out in about a month, has asked me to complete the following repairs. Since I may have to do them anyway for the next person, I'm OK with doing anything a landlord should typically do. But the lease specifies she bears the responsibility for anything that is due to her negligence. Which of these would you repair and pay for yourself, and which would you expect the tenant to pay?
- Broken handle on the washer/dryer
- Light flickering and occasionally not working in the kitchen
- Blinds that have some missing pieces/cracked elements
- Burner on stove not working
These all seem like items I should pay except for maybe the first and third ones.
Really appreciate getting the opinion of others here as I figure out how all of this works!
