Rental comparables and determining what it will rent for

Hey guys,

Im a brand new investor, (big surprise right, Not really). I had a question in regards to finding what a unit will rent for. I moved across country to Indianapolis and am looking to purchase a home to live in do some small renovations and then rent out. I want to be able to figure out what a unit will rent for and from looking at numbers it seems the rental price is the biggest factor for ROI. I'm looking for Single family 3 bed 2 bath , but don't know how to accurately determine the rent for it. Looking at craigslist as my only determination. Is there some other place I should looking??

Any help advice or anyone looking to connect in Indy is much appreciated. I will be doing more buy and hold rentals in Indy as I have a pretty good medical sales position that offers me some good cash flow for investment. Thanks.
