Updated over 6 years ago,
I got grossed out today .
I went to a friends rental , he just kicked the tenants out . A block waterfront house , that was well maintained over the years . All the houses around it are $ 600 K to $ 1 million . The tenants were there for 2 months with out electric . I walked inside , and the stench made me gag . Dog crap , cat urine , rotten food trash , mold . Walk down the steps to the basement , a foot of water clothes , trash and soaked furniture .
I asked him what he was going to do ? he said Looks like I am tearing it down . I planned to do it 2 years from now , but look at it . He said here is my problem , it will be 6 months till I get permits and I need it cleaned out , the neighbors 4 doors down can smell it . Everything goes . I dont want it to smell . I tell him , " It isnt gonna be cheap " All he does is hands me a check , asks me if the check will cover it . But he needs it done this week . I look at the check , and ask him if he is kidding . ( check is 5 times what the job is worth ) . All he asks is can I do it ? I tell him , it will be done . Then he says after I am done can I flood the basement , put in pool chlorine and a pump to circulate it to kill the cat urine smell since he has to use the existing foundation , and to bleach the rest of the house .
It is the grossest house I have ever been in . I asked him why he ever rented to them , did he screen them at all . " Against my better judgement I rented to my sister in law and her 4 lazy POS sons "
Never rent to family , and this is why I dont allow pets
