Maryland Solar Panels

Michael Karwacki
Posted

Just bought my first home to flip/ possibly rent in the Middle River area in Maryland. Recently spoke with a mentor who got me into flipping my first home and is now adding the government funded solar panels to every home. He says he’s getting more value off of his flips. I know from family and neigbors it does save money on Electric bill but if I Decide to rent out and make renter responsible for that bill is it any cause for red flags. Also if I get them I’d obviouslycharge more for rent.  Any help/info is appreciated.

I cannot speak for your mentor but solar panels have become a huge pain point in the transactions I have been a part of.  I have seen them cloud title and delay closings quite a bit.  Furthermore not every home owner wants to deal with them so you are narrowing down your buying pool.  I also thought the breakeven for solar was roughly 25 years or so but I could be wrong on that.
