Investing while Active Duty Military

Hello everyone. My name is Phillip Tamez and I am currently in the Navy as active duty. I have a couple questions and would appreciate any insight on this, especially if any of you are in the same situation. So I was just wondering if anyone here has invested in real estate while being on active duty, specifically buy and hold property and rented them out to tenants once moving to a new PCS or getting out of the military? My plan is to buy a property, whether it be single family home or multi unit, n either rent it out once I move or if a multi unit, rent out the other unit(s). Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I started buying in 2001 and just retired last year. I can't even count how many times I moved in between and that's not even counting deployments. So, yes it's totally doable. I'll second everyone else, though, and say to make sure you are buying right. If it won't cash flow the day you buy it, it probably won't cash flow when you move. And please make sure you know what it means to have a property truly cash flow. I bought when the numbers worked and I rented when they didn't, like in SoCal and NOVA.
