Open House, Takes application, Never heard from again

I had an open house a few weeks ago, with a lot of activity through the door. Everyone took an application, one woman while outside, I overheard her say to her friend “this is the place for me”. So today I texted everyone back with a unanimous rejection about either how “small the place was” or “this isn’t what they were looking for” in the listing it does say a 600 square foot studio apartment. I agree some people need more square footage, not a problem but....

First – Why even come to the open house if you know 600 square feet is "too small" for you

Secondly – If you don’t like the place, this is what grinds my gears, WHY take an application?

If you don’t like the place fine, I wasn’t force-feeding the application to anyone they weren’t even on the way out the door you had to break stride and go into the living room to get one.
