I have a dismissed eviction on my record.

I have a dismissed eviction on my record. I am so sad that every landlord/leasing manager thinks that eviction means we aren't responsible and we let someone drag us to court without coming to a settlement. In my case, we NEVER got an eviction letter or even went to court. We moved states and when I applied to an apartment complex, I was shocked they said their is an eviction. I went to see a lawyer and she said it's dismissed. There is nothing she can do to take EVICTION off altogether. The leasing manager of my prior apartment is also saying he can't take it off either. What do I do??? How do I remove this. I am only 23, it was my first apartment. What do I do?? Please help! Nobody would lease me an apartment.
