Buy and hold curiosity
kinda curious....i feel renting is probably my best start once i get into this, mostly because i have no knowledge on flipping and such. But to the question....what is the end game with renting? Do you hold the property indefinitely? Or just waiting for the most profitable time to sell the property? Obviously not to screw over the current tenents or anything, but what is the most successful way to go about buy and hold in that aspect?

The properties I have retained are for the purpose of supplementing my pension now that I am semi retired.
Unlike most that leave their equity sitting dead in a property reducing their return in investment to nearly nothing my properties are as close to 100% financed as I can get them. Rather than save a measly 5% on the mortgage I invest in income funds etc. generating 8-16% returns on average over the past 10 years.
Rather than have hundreds of thousands as dead equity buying very expensive cash flow mine is invested to earn twice the returns. Plus I still have thousands per month in positive cash flow. Win/Win.
