Asbestos and lead paint in a rental?
Hi, I'm looking into renting my current house that was built in 1900.
I know that a lot of the woodwork that is still there was stained first but was then repainted over the years many times. My question is if giving the renter a lead paint disclosure is enough for that.
Secondly, There is an asbestos vent pipe. It is no longer used and the only places you can access it are from either the crawl space or attic. It sits on the ground in the crawl space, runs all the way up the wall and is then seen again in the attic.
Any insight on how to eliminate any liabilities would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, I live in Birmingham, Alabama.
Thanks
