Old house turned into multi family deal. Build in 1875!
My business partner and I have been investing in real estate for about 2 years now. So we are still fairly new to certain investments. We have primarily bought single family homes build around 1950-60's. However we have recently come across what appears to be a good deal on a multi family, five unit house that happens to be built in 1875! The house is 4400 square feet.
Some background information about the house. The house has a new roof, 3 of the 5 A/C units have been recently replaced, electric has been re-wired, plumbing has been done within the last 10 years. The inside is in good condition with modern updates. The house does need exterior paint.
My questions and concerns are for those who have had experience with investment properties from this time Period. Being a old home that is very large. What do you budget for expenses, maintenance, and capex? Have you found these older houses to be good investments? Is there anything specifically that would concern you?
I look forward to hearing from you! Thanks!!
