damaged floors
Last month my contractor installed 2 vinyl tile floors in my rental property. 1 in the mudroom on the 1st fl and 1 on the 2nd fl bathroom. It is a large 5 bedroom home with an even larger family. With lots of kids! Recently I got a chance to really inspect the job of the new floors. I was surprised to see that the tiles were coming up in many spots on the floors. What was really odd was the way the underfloor was extremely wet or saturated. I checked for leaks from the toilets, sinks, and even the tub/shower. Nothing!! I know those kids soaked the floors. I even caught them running a garden hose into the mudroom one weekend to fill up a pool. Should this come right out of their security deposit or should I bite the bullet for being dumb enough to install vinyl tile knowing they had kids???
