I am curious to know how you started renting homes? Did anyone start by renting your own home or selling your home for down payment on a smaller house to eventually rent? 

When you found the right home, how long was the turn around time (upgrades, etc.) before you began renting?

What are things you wish you knew when you began? Any tips for new renters?
