Sinks between tenants

I was wondering what you landlords do with your kitchen and bathroom sinks (and drains) between tenants.

I've gotten into the habit of using a bottle of Drano Max for all the drains in between tenants. I had another landlord tell me he has his plumbing do "maintenance snaking" between tenants.

Thoughts? Comments?

As a plumber in my past life, I can say the drain cleaners are not worth the effort and can damage the system. I've owned and managed lots of rentals (including student rentals). I only clean the drains when I get a notice of a slow or plugged drain from the tenant. Then, I take care of it immediately. My cleaning contractor's checklist also has a place to check for a slow drain and I can take care of it before the tenant moves in.
