Property Management Concern

I'm just starting out as a landlord and I'm having a hard time trying to find a decent property management company in Southern Connecticut.  I don't have deep pockets to spend with big companies charging a monthly fortune to help me manage.  I just need a handyman guy on retainer that I can call to check things out and triage the situation.  Any help and/or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
