Northside Chicago renting preparations

Grandmother is retiring to warmer climate next summer. Leaving me a valuable condo in a gated community on a northside neighborhood of Chicago. With no experience in real estate, i'm looking for professional advice on what to prep for in the next year regarding renting options. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
