Roommate Tenant Laws

We own a duplex and rent a room out on the side I live in. Our roommate informed us he was leaving back to Dubai due to a family death for four days but now it has been about 2 1/2 months and he has not returned. He was on a month to month lease. He has not reached out to  us or returned any calls or texts, and hasnt paid any of the rent. What step would I take next? Would I just start an eviction? Most of his belongings are still here including a car, 2 laptops, flatscreen, printer, clothes etc . Any advise would help thank you. Have a blessed day! 😊
