Pets & liability insurance
I recently bought a condo and I am in the process of listing the property for rent. My homeowners insurance policy does not cover pets. My question is can I require a tenant to obtain pet liability insurance if they wish to have a pet included on their lease. Has this worked out for anyone? Or, am I setting myself for a liability issue down the road. I can always rent it saying No pets, but I don't want to cut my pool of potential tenants either. Has anyone else encountered this type of issue?
