Security Deposit 2 Roomates Situation

1 roommate had a heart transplant a couple months ago and hasn't been at the house since. He officially moved out without notice yesterday claiming that the house is not a good environment for him due to carpentry in the house and because he doesn't get along with his roommate any more.  He claims that he put the majority of the deposit money down and he wants it back from his roommate or me.  The roommate wants to stay but claims that he paid the majority of the bills in exchange for the Security Deposit paid by the roommate who moved out.  The lease expires next year in October since they asked for a 2 year lease.

If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thank you, Ved
