Airbnb & Car rentals
What's up BP! I've been running Airbnb's the last 6 months and now I'm trying to improve my Airbnb. I was thinking about renting out a car with my private rooms. Has anyone done this? I have a friend that has a dealers license and rebuilds car titles so I was thinking about getting old cars from her and getting the titles rebuilt and throw full coverage insurance on the car and then charge $20/night for the car if you choose to rent it out with the room. I know I will have to look further into the insurance part for liability purposes but I wanted to know if anyone else was doing this. I have been talking about it on my podcast for the last few weeks and I was against it at first but with the expansion of third party ways to buy cars such as Craigslist I thought that this would be a perfect way to add on to my Airbnb. I know that apps such as Turo are out there but they require you to have a specific year on the car and a certain amount of miles. What do you guys think?

@Myka Artis I think that's an awesome idea. Despite the massive risk of liability, I would love to offer a product like this. I think however, you might run up against some cross-regulation. I'm not sure if car rental agencies need to be licensed in texas or not, but I would assume they at least need a business license. You might get caught up there, but also AirBnb might have something that prohibits this in their TOS.
I doubt if the tenant trashed your car, AirBnb would pay to have it cleaned and I doubt you would be able to use the cleaning fee on the car.
I would reach out to AirBnb and ask if anyone else is offering this service and see how they are doing it.
Cool idea.
