Too many sheep and dogs
I rent 40 acres in Island County, Washington and have been here since 2007 with my family and a few farm animals. Most of the land is either wooded or utilized by a farmer down the road who pays to hay it. Last year a lady put her sheep and a couple of guard dogs on the land and problems arose, we wanted her property moved off and she had until March to move everything. Somehow the landlord changed his mind and decided she could stay; She trains Australian sheep herders and my dog is chained or kenneled watching them work, but now my dog is harassing and causing minor injuries to her sheep; Can she still be here just because the landlord says so? I have not signed a lease, the landlord said he would bring it by, but it's obviously been years since that conversation. As far as I know she does not pay to be here. Even the farmer who has mowed this acreage for many years before I moved in has shown displeasure at her sheep being out in the field. All I can think of is getting that lease taken care of. Any other ideas of handling things?
