To bathub? Or not to bathtub?

I'm in preparation to buy my first property, and one of the bathrooms is in bad shape. I have a lot of ideas on what to do with the first unit, but the biggest question right now, is that this is a 2br/1ba and currently it has no bathtub. Is it worth putting one in, or would the place do fine with a classy shower instead to make the space feel bigger? I feel like a 2br is probably less of a draw for families, so maybe the shower only is a better option?
