Rent and repairs paid by insurance
When the insurance company pays the rent for you because of a loss, while the property is being repaired do you have to report the rent paid by insurance as rental income? Or do you pocket it. Same for repairs, do you report the repairs checks as rental income and then deduct the cost of the repairs.
