Do you require 2 most recent paychecks from prospect tenant?

I use mysmartmove AND have them fill out a separate home application I got off the internet. I may try to call their employer depending on their credit score etc. but don't always. I have husband and wife BOTH submit the credit app on mysmartmove.

I am trying to strike a balance between due diligence and scaring people off with too much paperwork.

What do you suggest?
