Are Storm Shutters Required by the Landlord in South Florida?

Hello BP members,

So my PM just called and said the tenant is asking about Storm Shutters. Seems that the previous shutters are gone/missing from the garage. My questions as a landlord are....

  • Am I responsible for providing shutters?
  • Am I responsible for installing shutters?
  • Who is responsible for installing the storm shutters?
  • Should I get accordion shutters or storm shutters, if I must provide and install the shutters?

***Keep in mind, my goal is to sell this property in a few year (less than 10). The house is also a Section 8 home.
