How to Compensate Someone to Take Care of Rentals While I am Gone

My husband and I will be going to Spain for 2-1/2 weeks.  We have a total of 10 rental properties.  We have a friend who also has rentals, and is willing to be our emergency contact person for our tenants while we are away.  If anything goes wrong, he will need to either do repairs, or find someone to do the repairs.  He will not need to collect any rent monies.  It is possible that he will not need to do anything during our absence, however, should something happen while we are away, he will need to take care of that issue.  What is fair compensation for someone to make themselves available while we are away?  Any ideas?  Thanks!
