Need help with land short sale

One of my friends bought some raw land years ago, during the real estate boom years, following the advice of Marshall Redick and now it is worth nowhere near what she paid for it. The land is in the midwest, Kansas if I remember correctly.

Does anyone have experience doing short sales with land? What should I direct her to do to get this process started?
