Egress Windows for BASEMENTS in ILLINOIS

I am looking for opinion on VALUE ADD for egress window in basement.   I have heard that this can INCREASE value of your home substantially, and also INCREASE RENT potential for buy-hold properties.   Also, if anyone has contractor recommendation for Chicago (south), pls advise.

@Jerome Foster Since we're talking value add, I assume you are referring to having the basement count as a legal living space as a way to add value?

If that's correct, you also have to take into account a number of other factors beyond just the egress. Ceiling height, maximum distance from the exit to the furthest point in the unit, requirements for natural light and ventilation, and sqft/room are just a few. I wouldn't consider the egress itself much of a value add unless its the final item needed to make the basement a legal living space.
