Can I hire a broker to work for my LLC?
Hey everyone,
Thanks in advance for all the help! So here's the deal. I have this real estate agent that is currently working for a property management company and she wants to start her own property management company.
I eventually wanted to offer property management services as a part of our business strategy so I convinced her to become the Head of our Property Management Division. I am going to give her nearly free reign to manage properties, hire staff, etc.. She will report ultimately to me but still have the feeling that she is starting her own property management company without any of the costs associated with it (as I would foot the bill).
The question is, if I give her a small percentage ownership (say 5-10%) in the LLC (we currently have 8 investors), will my LLC then be considered a broker and I will be allowed to offer property management services?
