7 Years To 7 Figure Wealth - Tenants

I just finished reading Brandon's ebook 7 Years To 7 Figure Wealth. I really like the idea he presents and it seems very achievable. However, it made me question one thing In particular: tenants. I have read about some of the horror stories on BP regarding tenant problems and this is one thing that I feel like Brandon doesn't account for. My question is: How much and to what extent will bad tenants affect this plan? If you haven't read the ebook, essentially he is buying a small multi family ever other year and using the 1031 exchange to eventually roll into a large commercial property. Thanks in advance everyone!
