Section eight rentals near St. Louis

My brother and I are thinking about buying, renovating, and renting section eight housing in the suburbs within 20-40 miles west of St. Louis. We are both in construction and can do the majority of the work ourselves. And have friends who can do the work that we can't. We know a couple of guys that are doing this and having some success. I'm looking for some more insight on this. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Even if it's to stay the hell away from these deals. We have flipped a few houses in the past and had good success, and would love to just flip, or even BRRR, but right now, these section eight deals seem much easier to find. Probably a reason for that:/ Thank you guys!!
