International Property Maintenance Code are you aware of this?

A heads up to .. I was recently trying to research a city code within my rental area, and couldn't find the answer,, the city receptionist said they are now using the "2012 International Property Maintenance Code" and these rules and regulations were adopted for the city..

As a property owner, with a rental license, I hadn't been given notification of adopted city amendment, and honestly was surprised at what it all entails as I was trying to find out occupancy regulations for a 6 6 bedroom single family home..

Just wondering if others out there may not know what your city's adopted.. or state for that matter, and how to stay current in figuring this out
