Go to www.narpm.org and search their directory.

If you have never used property management company before, I highly recommend you educate yourself on what a property manager is and is not, what they do and do not do, and how to tell a good one from a bad one. After you are educated, interview at least three of them and determine which one is suitable for you and your property. An interview includes reviewing their marketing procedures, their screening process, their lease agreement, their management agreement, how they handle maintenance, and how they handle various problems with tenants. I also recommend you try speaking with a few of the landlords they work with and a few of their tenants.

Far too many landlords choose a property manager based on their advertised management fee. I can tell you that the cheapest property manager is not the best property manager. I am the most expensive in my area but my owners make more money after paying my fees then they would if they used one of the cheaper offices.

"If you think a professional is expensive, try hiring an amateur!"
