Converting Rental into Primary residence
Hello Everyone,
I like to thank you all in advance for any advice and information that I will get from this discussion. I currently live in Ohio, and we have a property in North Bergen, NJ. Currently the property is rented. The tenants have been there for a long time, and considering the prices in that said area, she has a deal. We started out with a lease, but don't have a lease at all. We are on a month to month. We are relocating back to North Bergen, NJ and would like our tenant to leave. I also like to add that, that condo was a primary residence at one point. Anyway, I called her and told her of the news and gave her two months to vacate the property. The way she replied to that conversation was "I'll see if I can find another place in two months." At the point I knew that I will have problem getting her to vacate. I am here because I need to know how much time do I need to give her to vacate the property and what is the proper way to handle this situation. I understand that all communications now will have to be formal in writing.
