A Test for my Insurance Company

Yesterday I received a call that someone went behind my commercial building and stole all the air condition units that are outside of the building. I guess they were going for the copper inside the units. The thieves destroyed all eight units. This is to much for me to handle on my own. Let's see if the Insurance company does the right thing now. My estimate is about $25,000 worth of damage (loss) butt what do I know. Of course I called the police and reported the crime.

Bill, sorry to hear about your misfortune. Depending on the A/C tonnage you can expect to pay about $3G and up per unit. You may also have to replace the evaporator coils (A-coil) inside of the furnace, assuming that the units were using R-22 freon. This is because R-22 units are no longer being manufactured as of this year due to EPA reasons. The problem is that the newer refrigerant (R-410) is not compatible with an R-22 coil. So if you have to change the coils you can expect to pay an additional $800+ - per unit. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. Hope this helps.
