Tenant Issues - Need Advice
So I had these terrible tenants were apparently selling drugs out of my property in Bend, Oregon (SFH 3bed/1ba). About two months ago I got them to leave and they left the property in pretty good shape. Now I have new tenants in there who have two small kids, and the new tenant called me yesterday saying that they found some drugs buried in the backyard. The drugs were sealed in a mason jar and contained needles, pipes, LSD, etc. The tenant did the right thing and called the cops and then called me to inform me. Thank goodness the tenant is pretty understanding that this was something somewhat out of my control. She just called to inform me of what happened and didn't expect me to do anything.
My question is - what can I do in this situation? Should I head over there and scope out the yard to ensure there is nothing else? Should I hire a landscaper to do a full clean up of the yard? Or do I just let it go?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

Sounds fishy. Two things you never find left behind at a rental property - cash and usable amounts drugs. Remnants of drug use, yes, but not the actual stuff.
My guess is whoever buried those - if in fact your current tenant is telling the truth - is either dead or in jail.
