Management Company did not inform us of changes

Hi there!

Two quick questions. We have a management company taking care of our home in AZ. We found out via the electric company that we have new renters in our home.

1. Are management companies allowed to change your renters without your knowledge?

2. After contacting the management company, they said the renters found someone else to take over the lease. Would the original renters still have to forfeit their deposit or any other money? If so, who does that go to--the management company, or us, the home owner?

Thanks for your help!
