Thursday Thoughts: What would you do?
Here is a fun "what would you do?"
A couple with their toddler comes to view your 2nd floor apartment vacancy and applies. They seem nice enough, but you notice that the child is especially loud. On the other hand, we all know this can be the nature of young children. The running, the screaming, not listening, getting into things. But the parents can't take their eyes off their child for a second before he's running out doors towards staircases, getting into things, screaming, and jumping about.
You know if you find this especially loud that your wonderful downstairs tenant will definitely feel the same.
Income is good. No delinquencies. No criminal records. But you notice that they first send you the child's SS card rather than the father's. Turns out this was because the father doesn't have a SS card, so they send his tax ID number instead. Seemed sneaky. A couple of blank questions left on the application itself still. Would you accept? Clearly you can't discriminate against (loud) children!
