Switching Property Management Companies

This is my first time embarking on an adventure such as this. So I am not even sure I know the right questions to ask. But here we go: I have a property that has been rented with the same property management company for years, but I am planning to consolidate and move my properties to one company. What is the best way to cut ties with the current company? The current tenants are month to month.
