Realtor Direct Marketing to Our Tenants

What would you do? Two Real Estate Brokers from the same firm mailed letters to our properties, outside envelope addressed as "Dear Tenant". This is the content of the letter....

Dear Tenant,

Tired of throwing away monthly rent payments? Many people that rent do not realize they have the opportunity to buy. Call me to inquire about possibly being a home owner and building equity for your future. This is at $0 cost to you, and I would be happy to talk with you in more detail about purchasing your own home!

[name, firm, Real Estate Broker, phone #]

I've never considered that tenants are "throwing away monthly rent payments" as they are receiving valuable goods and service in exchange for the rent they pay. We strive to provide safe, clean, affordable, comfortable and quiet housing for responsible renters. This kind of approach by a realtor can negatively affect tenant mentality. It also impacts the relationship we have with our tenants. What do you think?
