Multiple tenants screening

I can't seem to find a concrete answer on this:  If I have multiple applications that fill out a tenant profile can I choose which one I believe would possibly be the best tenant before processing that application first?  And how many hours can I accept multiple applications, 24 hrs?  Basically I request credit and background checks from applicants one at a time.  IF I receive 5 applications in a 24-48 period, can I decide which one to first look through and run? I know some people say first come first serve but what if I receive multiple within a time frame and I check my account and there's 5 apps in there and I know 1 will probably be the best tenant and I want to run that one first??  Thoughts? Im out of Indiana .  Thank you
