New Build Duplex - need upgrade ideas

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a new build duplex in South Carolina. It will be done mid March of this year. In the negotiations, I got the seller/builder to give me a $2000-3000 credit to use on upgrades in the base model of the house. Any ideas on what I should upgrade to be able to increase my rental value? Base model has tiled kitchens and bathrooms, solid surface countertops, carpeted living and bed rooms. I don't really know specifics on lighting/faucets. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Keep in mind it's a duplex so upgrade would have to be cheap enough to do on both sides.

Are all the meters going to be separate?  That would be my #1 priority. After that I would use wood grain vinyl instead of carpet. It looks great and lasts longer than carpet. It's also nice to have the yard area separated with a fence, if is logical with your layout, because then you can make the tenants responsible for lawn care.
