Neighboring homes burned, Displaced Tenants

Last night in Trenton, NJ there was a fire that burned 9 houses down on the same block as my property. The fire was across the street and did not spread to my house. Thankfully my tenants, their family, and my house is all OK. I just received a call from the PD to go speak with them regarding securing my property, as my tenants will need to be out of their house for at least a week. It's a dead end street and apparently there won't be any access for them for awhile.

My tenants are telling me the hotel they are in is being covered by the Red Cross.

Any tips on what I should be doing in this situation, if anything?

Thanks in advance!

Could also be a cause of utility disruption for service, make sure the electric and gas and will be OK because otherwise refrigerated food will be an issue you may have to cover also.

As long as red Cross is covering housing for interim. you won't have to pay hotel costs.

And as mentioned earlier check your insurance, call your agent so he knows you might have a claim, you may have damages that have not yet been apparent, and could have a loss rent cause,, just depends on your deductible..

Just make sure you inspect property daily during clean up efforts and wow what a terrible thing.
