How do you secure your shared basements? Multi-family investing
Hi all, I purchased a 2 unit that has a shared basement arrangement for utility/storage purposes. There is a wall down the middle ending at a "common" room in the rear where both electric meters are. There are simple slide locks on the doors entering this common room from each unit. 2nd floor can enter the common room by unlocking their door, but cannot enter through the 1st floor common room door because its locked from the other side. Vice versa the other way. Anyone have something similar to this? Any best practices on keeping each tenant safe?
Thanks in advance!
