Landlord/Tenant rights in CT
Just got back from an emergency after hours plumbing and drain cleaning call. Little old lady with a serious sewer backup at her house, no use of toilets,showers,sinks,etc.. Diagnosed immediate problem to find that the clog was on the street side of the dwelling which makes it the landlords responsibility. I called the after hours number left by the management company to listen to them say that she would have to wait until morning before they would send their plumber out to avoid emergency rates. My question is: Is that legal?
I was under the impression that they had to put her up in a hotel for the night if they couldn't resolve the matter immediately. Any feedback would be great.
Thanks,
Mark
