Just Curious why someone would Assign A Rental Agreement...

Hello BP!

Today I was doing my Evictions Research for some mailers and came across a Plaintiff (typically the Property Manager or Owner) who had a different name than the Appraiser site. My next step when seeing that is to look at recent sales and see if anything is notated since sometimes there is a month or two delay. Then I started reading further into the Evictions Complaint and noticed this -

"Plaintiff was assigned rental agreement on 9/21/2016 and is the authorized agent for the owner of real property address.... yada yada"

My only question is what type of transaction is happening with the owner that this would be happening?

I can only think of them hiring a management person/company... Thanks!
