Calls from out of state area codes

I have a 2/1 up fpr rent I have had 5 people inquire , but 4 of them are from out of state .  I am always weary of calling someone that lives 1000 miles away . Yes I know that they could be living here with their cell phone .  But with the scams going on I check the numbers as best I can before I call .
