Finding an ammount to rent your home for

I've looked at comparable comps in the area. Called other landlords and attempted to get informantion. Some places seemed calm and cool and not in a rush. Some seem like they haven't had many applications. Has anyone ran an add on Craigslist or something similar to gauge price and intrest before there listing home?
